A crime drama in two parts by one of Greece’s most popular writers.

Set in Greece in 2008, The Final Reckoning by Petros Markaris, is a cleverly disguised police procedural which exposes a country in moral and financial crisis.

The story begins with the quadruple suicide of four elderly women, friends who can longer see how to survive in a country where poverty is a government policy. Their deaths precipitate an outpouring of public anger – which manifests itself as some of Athens’ wealthiest citizens being killed off.

Superintendent Kosta Jaritos, once in the despised Military Police – the strong arm of the dictatorship of Generals who ruled Greece as recently as the ‘70s – knows in his heart that this new wave of murders is somehow linked to the crimes of the past – some of which he himself committed.

Stars Philip Jackson (The Good Karma Hospital), Amaka Okafor, Michael Elwin, Jane Slavin, Paul Panting, Pamela Miles and Stephen Boxer with narration by Chris Pavlo.
