Christopher Reason is a British TV and Radio writer since 1988, initially in radio where his work won a Writers’ Guild award along with two Sonys, before moving into television. He was the core writer on EastEnders from 1993 until July 2019 also making significant contributions to other long running TV shows such as Casualty and The Bill.
Continuing to write for BBC Radio, Reason has dramatized AJ Cronin’s The Citadel for seven series and reimagined Emile Zola’s Rougon-Macquart series of novels into Fault Lines over three series.

A Second to Midnight – A contemporary thriller set in Nigeria. Dr Rob Turner has written a report that says that oil reserves are about to run out. But then he is forced to bury it.
The Girl of My Best Friend – When Jules finds a pile of old photographs and a letter in her husband’s desk drawer, she unlocks a tragic past which has haunted their troubled marriage.
The Confessions of Caminada – It’s 1889 and Manchester is gripped by an economic depression, the political atmosphere is febrile, there are demonstrations on the streets and crime is spiralling. Eighteen year old Charlie Parton has been convicted of murder of a respected local councillor. He faces execution but prominent social campaigner Mrs Annie Swinton knows the lad and refuses to believe he is guilty.
Box of Chocolates – When Christine receives a box of her favourite chocolates from her recently estranged Aunt Shirley, she’s prompted to show how soft-centred she really is. But watch out for the nuts!
Unreasonable Behaviour – Faced with a political and sexual scandal, an ambitious local councillor finds his marriage and career on the brink of collapse.
The Final Furlong – An old man with a broken heart wonders whether he can remedy his sorry situation.
